Anxiety Relief Group is a safe setting for relaxing and exploring your feelings with others through gentle socialization and self expression. Building up what makes you centered and strong.

Laughter Yoga was founded in India in 1995, by Dr. Madan Kataria, M.D., and his wife Madhuri, a yoga teacher. It combines gentle yogic breathing techniques with genuine, spontaneous laughter exercises. Dr. Kataria developed Laughter Yoga inspired by several scientific papers he had read on the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of genuine, spontaneous laughter. Anyone can do this practice; no yoga mat, or special clothing, required. Come as you are for a gentle, fun, easy, restorative session to start your week off feeling good.

The Writing Circle format was first brought to The Pathways VT Community Center in May of 2014 by Hilary Melton, the Executive Director of Pathways Vermont. The inspiration for this format was introduced by Mary Beth Redmond.

The format of the group:

A member of the group brings a printed agenda for each participant that includes a quote and poem or short story, and related writing prompts.
We have a free-write for 15-20 minutes where we can write in any style, either inspired by the prompts or about anything we’d like!
We share our writing pieces with the group (although it’s optional), and as we’re sharing, the rest of the group writes down, verbatim, words and phrases that jump out at or stick with us.
We read aloud all the words and phrases that we have transcribed, omitting any feedback!
As homework, someone creates a collage or found poem, using as many of the group’s words and phrases as possible, for the following group. The found poem can include additional words and small modifications to tense, etc., but will be primarily unedited.
