The Pluckin' Strummers - A Los Angeles Ukulele Club, welcomes players of all skill levels to join in on the fun of playing and singing in a group. The club prides itself on being a teaching club that caters to all skill levels. Established in December of 2010 the Pluckin' Strummers have proven to be a mainstay in the ukulele community here in Los Angeles. <br>Please visit our website, pluckinstrummers.wordpress.com, where you'll find a list of required song books along with a few recommended ones. The first visit to our club is always free and when returning we ask for a $5 donation per meeting to cover expenses including administrative, printing, and our fabulous location. With consistent attendance along with individual practice our members' playing and singing skills will improve tremendously. <br>We meet on the second and fourth Saturday of every month with a standardized format of two 50 minute playing sessions separated by a short break for refreshments and great conversation. The first 50 minutes of material is geared toward new players with a quick lesson session to help improve playing skills and music knowledge. The second 50 minute session consists of progressively more challenging songs but always with a consideration for the new players. We also allow approximately one half hour prior to the start during setup for questions, comments, announcements, and song recommendations. Each meeting ends with 20 minutes or so of performance time. This is our members time to shine. Members are encouraged to share a song and the more they perform the better they become. <br>"Uke" can do it! Come join us for some pluckin' and a strummin' singing fun! Location: Christ's Church Griffith Park 3852 Edenhurst Ave Los Angeles, CA 90039 We are in the Atwater Village area of Glendale.
