Observation Peak Hike

Let's hike in the Trapper Creek Wilderness with our dogs. Observation Peak was the site of old lookout, so there may be great views from Mt Jefferson to Mt Rainier. The main route to this peak is an arduous 13 mile round trip. However, there is a back-door route that is less than half that. Here is the summary from Sullivan's book:

Moderate, 5.6 miles round trip
Elevation gain, 1390 ft. Note, according to elevation on the map it is 600 ft. I don't know which is correct.

Although it was foggy and there were no views, it was a good hike with many wildflowers.
