• THE LONG AND SHORT OF NICE GUY RECOVERY - A Q&A WORKSHOP WITH DR. GLOVER AND ME

    The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

    $75.00

Date Change! Now Saturday the 15th in the afternoon. Dr. Glover and I will be doing a workshop together on Sunday, June 16th, from 9:30-1:30. We will be using a Q & A format, so you can ask us anything you'd like, and we will share our latest thoughts, feelings, and opinions on Nice Guy Syndrome and recovery. By the way, our opinions mostly agree, sometimes disagree, and always compliment each other's, so you will get two halves that make up more than a whole. That's a whole lot. And four hours of fun. Plus snacks! For more information, go to Dr. Glover's website: https://www.drglover.com/workshops-seminars/la-meetup-6-19.html And to pay, use this link: https://www.drglover.com/shop/action-resources/la-meetup-6-19.html By the way, it's $75 now, but $100 on the day of the event, so I'd recommend you do it now and save. Also, you can use your credit card and get points! Hope to see you there.

  • Monthly Worksho

    The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

    $25.00

Sorry about the late notice, but the venue had trouble sorting out its schedule. In any event, it's time for us to put our heads together again and help each other with the issues we face as men. Something I've been thinking about recently is how to know what you want, along with how to use that knowledge to get what you want in life. Of course, as always, we can talk about whatever is most on your minds. I hope to see you there. Michael

  • Monthly Workshop

    The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

    $25.00

Hey Guys- I've been thinking that we're doing great in our workshops, and I want to thank you all for that. This month, I've been thinking a lot about the mythic vs. human and how that gets us all into trouble. Nice Guys live in a mythic mindset, in which doing the right thing is supposed to get them into Happily-Ever-After. Moving to a more human mindset is difficult, but it is far more effective in living a good life. We can talk about that...or anything you'd like.

  • Monthly Workshop

    The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

    $25.00

Hey Guys- Sorry I haven't been able to schedule a workshop before this, but the venue just cleared up some building issues. They are still not quite clear, which is why we need to meet on Saturday, not Sunday, but that's the deal. In any event, this is our last workshop of the year, and it's holiday season, which can bring out strong emotions in all of us, good and bad. Don't be alone for this. Come join in and get some support from other guys like you. In fact, let's make the topic getting through the holidays with a measure of joy and peace. Hope to see you there. Michael

  • Dress for Success in Love and Life: A Free Happy Hour

Here is a time-honored question: Do clothes make the man? On Friday, October 26th, we’re going to find out, when Erica Ojeda, who represents The Trunk Club, a Nordstrom’s company, is providing us with a free happy hour at her company’s private demonstration space. She will begin with a one-hour discussion of dressing for success in the dating and professional arenas, and she will follow that with a demonstration of transformation, using three of us Nice Guys as “models” to showcase Erica's styling skills and the clothes in Nordstrom’s current catalogue (which you will have an opportunity to examine and purchase.) The best thing? It’s all free (except for the clothes themselves): the discussion, the demonstration, and the happy hour itself. That’s right. Nordstrom’s is providing free beer and wine for everyone! So, come on out to The Trunk Club demonstration warehouse and see for yourself how dressing better can lead to feeling better and ultimately to performing better in work, in love, and in life.

  • Monthly Workshop

    The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

    $25.00

As an adjunct to our discussions about assertiveness, I am writing a piece about decision-making, which is an important part of knowing what you want in life; and of course, you can't really be assertive if you don't know what you want. I'll send you the piece just as soon as I'm done with it. In the workshop, we can discuss any aspect of assertiveness you want, as well as how to make good decisions. We can also practice assertiveness using the situations in your life you'd like to solve. Michael

  • Monthly Workshop - Assertiveness and Courage

    The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

    $25.00

Hi Guys- I'm thinking more about assertiveness, and along with it, the courage that it takes to act. I'm writing a short piece (which I'll send you all as soon as it's done) with some ideas about confidence and courage. We can put them together with what we're learning about assertiveness to get a better idea how to take action in the face of fear. And, like last time, we can do experiential exercises to practice what we're learning in a real way. Michael
