You've seen the turbines while traveling on Route 41 and I 65. Now let's learn, see and touch them. I have arranged a guided tour. Attendees will split the $75 admission fee (charged by Benton County, Indiana.) If we reach over 20 attendees there will be a flat fee of $5.00 per attendee. More Details: The tours start at the Benton County Annex Center located at 410 South Adeway, Fowler, IN 47944. Our tour guide, Harry, will greet our group at the annex center for a tour with a general agenda, as follows: 1. Video presentation of the turbine installations 2. Visit and photo opportunity next to an actual turbine blade 3. Harry will lead a driving tour to a completed turbine and a sub-station and two different types of turbines across from one another. Important: For those who wish to walk up to the turbine they require a signed waiver for each person and should be given to Harry the day of the tour. The turbines are on private property and the waivers are used to protect the county and the private land owners should someone twist their ankle or something like that. For those who wish not to sign a waiver they will still go to the turbine but they will have to view it from the vehicle they arrived in. Only the ones with the signed waiver get to walk up to the turbine. They have restroom facilities at the annex should you need them once you arrive or before you head to your next destination. Payment will be made day of the tour. I will have printed waivers. RSVP time set because the tour givers want a number of attendees. Travel time from Hammond is about 1 and 1/2 hours. A carpool will leave Hammond at 8:15 am. The wind farm time zone is one hour ahead of us. We will be meeting in Fowler at 11am (local time) which is 10am our time. This ought to be a very cool experience.
