This month's topic is: Gutenberg!
WordPress has been developing a new editor — Gutenberg — which will become the default editor in WordPress version 5.0. The Gutenberg editor is meant to replace the current WYSIWYG backend editor built into WordPress.
Designed to feel more rich and enjoyable for content creators, the overall look and feel of the Gutenberg editor is similar to some page builders available. However you currently design and update your WordPress website, this will affect your process to some degree.
This is a powerful and exciting development! Gutenberg is the first major update to the WordPress editor in a while, and there are definitely mixed feelings about it.
This month, we'll take a look at the changes we can expect from this update as WordPress developers and designers, and how to start becoming familiar with Gutenberg before transitioning our sites. We will demonstrate the interface, and share resources and information to help you make the switch as smoothly as possible — for you and for your clients.
Please RSVP, and we look forward to seeing you and sharing information about Gutenberg on Thursday!
