2. Introductions

3. Main Lecture

Shideh Naderi

Shideh is a senior at San Diego State University studying Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. Her areas of specialization are autonomous robotics, image processing and AR/VR. She also has an associates degree in mathematics.

As a student she has had some fascinating internships for NASA, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, and most recently with the AERO Institute.

Nearing her graduation from San Diego State, she will be sharing her work at NASA along with her robotics team experiences including with autonomous underwater vehicles.

Parents with young kids, especially young girls, we highly recommend that you attend this presentation. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet an upstanding student involved with STEM education. Regardless of their ultimate career direction, kids need role models and Shideh certainly is a fantastic role model.

We also know that we have several teachers that are members. I encourage you to attend and also perhaps extend an invite to your students and their parents.

4. Mini Sumo Bot Competition
We are hosting our annual mini sumo bot competition. Here is a video recap from last year:

If you are entering the mini sumo bot competition, please send me a personal email to John McCarthy (E: [masked]). We are requesting this information to coordinate the competition ahead of Saturday.
