What we're about

If you look at life as a continuous journey of learning and growing...love reading and discussing self-development books and/or attending workshops to learn new approaches and tools for self-discovery, self-care, healing, and growth...and want to become more of who you are and discover what you’re still meant to be and do in this life…this group could be for you.

Book Club

The complementary book club meets monthly to learn and encourage each other through discussion, inspired by a self-development book. This is a special space and time designed for you to start and continue down a path of self-discovery and self-development with other positive women who love discussing these topics as much as you do.

Whether you’ve read the book each month or not, you are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion. We’ll share our “aha!” moments, ask questions, learn how others plan to incorporate or implement the book’s ideas, and share our own stories if we wish. The only thing that's required is a positive mindset. That does not mean you have to agree with everything every author says, but all comments should be respectful, thoughtful, and constructive. We are able to help one another and grow ourselves when we are curious and recognize that we are all on our own journeys and have unique beliefs, circumstances, and life experiences that affect our interpretations.

There are two book club discussion opportunities each month:
- 1st Thursday of each month from 7:30-9:30pm at the Barnes & Noble Kitchen at One Loudoun in Ashburn, Virginia
- 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7-9pm at the Brambleton Library in Ashburn, Virginia (dates are subject to change based on meeting room availability - dates are confirmed/updated 60 days prior to the Meetup date)

You are welcome to join the Facebook group for the Book Club as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheSageSistersBookClub/

Events & Workshops

Launched in February 2019, monthly interactive workshops and events feature experts who present on various topics surrounding self-discovery, self-care, healing, and growth. We have meaningful experiences, learn new tools and techniques, and discover and support local businesses. Experts are carefully selected through an application process. They must have previously professionally taught the topic and provide attendees with practical take-away skills/knowledge you can easily apply to your life or continue to do on your own after the event. Events are typically offered the 2nd Sunday of the month from 2-4pm, but are subject to space availability; all posted events are confirmed. The events will be held in Sterling, Virginia.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

The Sage Sisters Self-Development Book Club: The Path Made Clear, Oprah Winfrey

Barnes & Noble Ashburn One Loudoun

Join us for a discussion inspired by The Path Made Clear by Oprah Winfrey. This book contains wisdom shared by Oprah and many others, including some of our favorites. It is relatively short, but deep. After reading just a few passages, my thought was that it is probably best read in small batches, and then reflected on in a journal - to go deeper into what the passages mean to you. Whether you journal or not, the format and content doesn't lend itself to speed-reading, so keep that in mind. ;) The book itself is beautiful, and the passage backgrounds are gorgeous pictures of nature. It would make a perfect coffee table, guest room, or even bathroom book. An observation...Amazon is offering it at a super reduced rate right now. The price will probably go up after launch, which means now is a good time to buy it. There are two opportunities to discuss it with the group: June 6th, 7:30-9:30pm, Barnes & Noble June 19th, 7-9pm, Brambleton Library Choose which discussion you attend - please RSVP for the date/time/location that suits you best. About the book club: This is a special space and time designed for you to start and continue down a path of self-discovery and self-development with other positive women who love discussing these topics as much as you do. Whether you’ve read the book each month or not, you are welcome to attend and participate. The only thing that's required is a positive, forward-thinking mindset and a focus on learning from one another and contributing to the growth of others. The Barnes & Noble Kitchen is situated right inside the bookstore. I’ve reserved the back corner with the booth seating. There is enough seating for 12 people, so RSVP early to secure your spot and kindly update your RSVP if you can no longer attend. Check out the menu at http://barnesandnoblekitchen.com/menu/. Get a water, tea, coffee, or glass of beer/wine…a nibble or a meal...or nothing at all. This is your time. Come and enjoy it!
