Vegan potluck at Carolyn's house!

Carolyn's house is one of our favorite places to potluck.  Let's bring in Spring at Carolyn's warm and lovely home on the Westside. Vegans and non-vegans alike are welcome, just make sure that what you bring is vegan. Organic is preferred and an ingredient list is helpful.  Carolyn provides a nice variety of teas to sip into the evening.  Can't wait to schmooze with our wonderful friendly vegans once again!

RE: the recipe for baked herbed almond cheese. Yikes! Please accept my apologies. I inadvertently left out an important ingredient in the list of ingredients--namely 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. (I referred to it in the instructions, so, hopefully you caught the omission). If anyone has actually made it (but not baked it) using the incomplete list of ingredients, it will likely turn out okay if you just re-combine the mixture adding in the lemon juice. In that case, I think that It would probably be best to let it set for a few more hours in the refrigerator before baking it. I just updated the recipe on the website, so it is now correct . So sorry.

The meetup at Carolyn's house was great. Thank you, Carolyn, for once again hosting it. Your generosity is appreciated.

Here is a link to the recipe for the baked herbed almond cheese that I made for the potluck: http://vegansforlife.org/donnacheese
P.S. vegansforlife.org is our little website. Check it out if you'd like.

Thanks Carolyn for opening your house up to all of us. Hopefully your deck plants are enjoying the peanut shells we left. Carolyn, I totally agree with what you had read years ago and shared with some of us. I had intuitively come to the same conclusion based on many self-reflections and didn't have the vocabulary to express what that author did.

Special thanks to Sharon and Eric for organizing this. The conversations flowed and became more and more interesting as the night progressed. I am already looking forward to the next potluck and for the posting of the "cheese" recipe from Donna much before that.

Oh nooooos! I thought this was tomorrow night for some reason. I started the thai yellow curry tonight and nowhere to take it. I can't believe I missed meeting you all and that I missed out on Ethiopian wat (red lentil stew). I guess i will try to get it together better next time.

Thanks, Carolyn and Sharon, for hosting and organizing this potluck. I'm bringing an Ethiopian red lentil stew with brown basmati rice, almond flour scones and farinata, all Vegan.

    Hello, All --
It turns out that I will be participating in a sweat lodge ceremony throughout the day and not sure that I will be up to coming. Maybe I'll get there a bit late...Cat

I was so looking forward to this, and was very disappointed to learn that my choir is performing the same night. I'm hoping the party might go till late enough in evening that I can join you afterward. If not, hope to see many of you on my birthday at the book club meeting on May 4th! :-)

Many of us tend to schmooze into the night, usually until about 11 or 12. So stop on by whenever...

Thanks for hosting Catherine! So, does anyone know what they're bringing yet? I'm thinking of doing a crockpot Thai yellow curry if no one else is doing that one. I'll cook up a bowl of ½ brown, ½ white rice to dollop the curry onto as well. If anyone had planned on making something similar I can jump over to something else.
