Guided library Tour in English

There are lots of free materials in English , books, DVDs etc available for Expats, the Schaffhausen library would like to give Expats a guided tour of the facilities available......

Schaffhausen's libraries. A guided tour

Schaffhausen has a long and impressive library tradition stretching back more than 900 years to the scriptorium of the All Saint's monastery. The municipal library, founded in 1636, today holds a collection of roughly 200'000 documents. They are in two buildings: One is on Münsterplatz close to the former monastery, with a spacious reading room and stacks for the old and rare books as well as the academic collection. The modern public library is located on Schwesterngasse offering a wide selection of books, DVD's, games, language courses etc. The tour begins on
Münsterplatz and continues in the Agnesenschütte building.
It is also possible to take part in the first or second half only.
Wednesday 25.9. | Stadtbibliothek, Münsterplatz 1, 12.15 pm, Agnesenschütte, Schwesterngasse 1, 1 pm.

It was great. Actually I was just before James and there was just me... James sorry I think you were just there when I finished (I was the one with the baby and stroller)

Missed the group, but pleasantly surprised with the Library - fair selection of English fiction, lots of DVDs and some audio books - all free! e-books too but I've not found them yet. Reading room with a copy of the Times and free wifi. If they don't have something you want ask and they may get it. Well staffed too and open till 6.
