MARCH SHAMAN CIRCLE: THE SPIRIT OF STUFFED ANIMAL FRIENDS
Whether or not we still have our stuffed friends, we can all remember a time when we toted about our stuffed bunnies or bears or froggies or unicorns on all of our adventures. This month at The Shaman Circle, we’ll journey in a shamanic way to the Land Of Stuffed Animals…and our specific beloveds from childhood (and beyond). Everyone is invited to bring a stuffed friend, be that from childhood or current times. We may be surprised about what our stuffed friends can teach us…welcome childlike wonder, innocence, play, and MAGIC!
THINGS TO BRING:
- stuffed animal friend who wants to come to circle to play
- something to sit on and be comfy (blanket, yoga met, etc)
- something to cover your eyes (eye mask, bandanna, etc)
- journal and pen
- water bottle
A NOTE ABOUT WELLNESS:
Folks may be in the middle of intense physical healing journeys, and it's really important that we honor each other and our community by staying home when ill. THANK YOU FOR STAYING HOME IF YOU'RE SICK, getting sick, getting over being sick, or live with someone who is ill...the sniffles or a lingering cough for you can be devastating for someone else in circle. Thanks for your kind integrity!
SOME BACKGROUND ON SHAMANISM:
Shamanism is one of the oldest traditions in our human heritage - we two leggeds have had some form of shamanic practice in each of our ancestral cultures on planet earth since time began. In early times, when our ancestors were unsure of what medicine plants to use, where to hunt for game, how to help a sick or injured clanmate heal, or how to work in harmony with the life-giving spirits of nature, a shaman would enter an altered state of consciousness, and journey in non-ordinary reality for information, and healing. Shamans served their community by working closely with helping spirits, and keeping their tribes or clans safe, healthy, happy, and connected to the natural world.
Based in core shamanism, the Shaman Circle offers a safe, joyful space to explore shamanic journeying and practice. Through listening to shamanic drumming and rattling, we'll enter non-ordinary reality and explore different shamanic worlds. Everyone can learn to journey, and work with compassionate beings to gain information about our life paths, insight into our struggles, help solve problems, and offer healing for all of creation.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT CIRCLE:
At each monthly event, we'll meet for three hours. We'll introduce ourselves, call in the directions together, and cover a 10-15 minute description of how to journey for beginners. We'll have time for two journeys with live drumming, and sharing around them for those who want to. We'll close with checking in, honoring and releasing the directions, and blessings.
We'll meet 15 minutes before the event begins, and lock the doors promptly at the beginning of the event with no exceptions. The nature of the work we do requires a sacred vessel, and we're diligent about closing the space to create it -thanks for your understanding. Please arrive early, allowing ample time to find the space and park. Thanks for attending to that, friends.
Shamanic practice is a profoundly wonderful experience - we have access to helping spirits who love us unconditionally, and joyfully. Welcome!
