Sin City Woodworkers June Meeting Announcement
Sin City Woodworkers, a Vegas valley social and networking group committed to serious (and not so serious!) woodworking discussions, meet on the third Wednesday of each month to share everything from techniques and ideas to information about local suppliers and much more. This month’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 20 at 7:00 and longtime member Adam Wilson will share a very cool recent project that he made working as an artist/fabricator for Destinations by Design (DBD). As a major player in event services, DBD designs and fabricates awesome sets, party props and much more, and Adam had an opportunity to work on a one of the coolest - a GIANT electric guitar, used for a recent corporate photo shoot. Not Hard Rock Hotel big, but still… this piece is HUGE! With a background in graphic arts, as well as woodworking, Adam started out working for DBD on more traditional pieces, like event furniture that is rented out for events. But as his skills grew, he’s progressed to working on much more interesting projects, like the guitar. This particular guitar prop was commissioned for a corporate event that was recently held at Jewell Nightclub at Aria. With a little luck, Adam hinted he might even be able to bring the guitar to our meeting… bring your cameras! As always, feel free to bring a project to present at Show and Tell, and as always - you’re welcome to bring a friend! This meeting will be held at Studio: Wood It Is!, 2267 West Gowan, unit 106 in North Las Vegas. As always, the public is welcome to attend the meeting, but remember - there are a limited number of chairs in the woodshop. Attendees might want to bring a folding chair if they wish to sit during the meeting. If you have questions or need directions, call the studio at[masked]

What we're about

If you've always wanted to learn about woodworking, but didn't know where to start, here's your chance to meet with a variety of woodworkers in a safe and friendly environment. We meet once a month to discuss of woodworking in the valley. Some of our past topics have included woodworking classes, show our work, explore project ideas, and share information about local suppliers. Some of the best parts of our meetings include various woodworking demonstrations by our members. Here's a chance to learn new skills up close and personal, from local artisans.

If you're interested in woodworking classes, I can teach you how to work with wood safely, and with artistic vision. I’ve taught everyone from housewives to surgeons how to successfully design and build their dream woodworking projects. I’ve been building for over twenty years, and teaching nearly ten years at the university level, I’d love to share that knowledge with you. We can talk about building anything from small items to bedrooms sets to built-in cabinetry for your home. Imagine never having to hire a carpenter again - because you’ll be able to do the work yourself!

Check out my website for more information or to contact me with questions: www.wooditis.com. I hope you’ll join me for our monthly meeting; let’s discover the artist within you.
