Sin City Woodworkers November Meeting

Sin City Woodworkers, a Vegas valley social and networking group committed to serious (and not so serious!) woodworking discussions, meet on the third Wednesday of each month to share everything from techniques and ideas to information about local suppliers and much more.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20 at 7:00, and this is shaping up (no pun intended!) to be a very interesting meeting. Ted Warren will be leading an in-depth router discussion, and giving a cool tool demo as well. He'll bring samples of moldings that he's made over the years, discussing his various commissions that utilized those custom moldings. He's also bringing a router table that he made, because he says he doesn't like working with "junky router tables." (Who does?!)

Ted's router table functions more as a SHAPER than a router, and if you've ever seen some of the work that Ted does - you know that his router table design is probably very well designed.  Without question, routers are one of the most versatile tools in your woodshop arsenal, and  everyone should know how to work with them. So if you're looking for some good tips on what routers can do, or want to learn a little bit more about making your own router table, this is the meeting for you!

This meeting will be held at Studio: Wood It Is!, 2267 West Gowan, unit 106 in North Las Vegas. As always, the public is welcome to attend the meeting, so members - please feel free to bring a guest along. But remember that there are a limited number of chairs in the woodshop. Attendees might want to bring a folding chair if they wish to sit during the meeting. If you have questions or need directions, call the studio at 631-1870.
