Wow - five years! The party has just begun!
Sin City Woodworkers, a Vegas valley social and networking group committed to serious (and not so serious!) woodworking discussions, meet on the third Wednesday of each month to share everything from techniques and project ideas to information about local suppliers and much more. We’re proud to announce that this meeting marks our fifth year in existence! Wow! We’d pat ourselves on the back but we don’t want to risk any injury to our brittle bones that might keep us from our favorite hobby! Instead - join us on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:00 for a bandsaw tune-up presentation with Joe Hessling, who will be sharing his tool expertise with our group.
Sure, you can Google Band-Saw Tune-ups and read a variety of tips for taking your tired tool and tweaking it into a top notch performer. But Joe is going to give us the inside scoop on adjusting, aligning, tensioning, and using this handy tool. If you have a bandsaw that isn’t performing the way it should - you’ll want to attend this meeting and diagnose your machine’s issues. A well adjusted bandsaw is not only a joy to use, but one of the most versatile machines in your arsenal!
We’ll also be continuing our Sin City Woodworker dues drive, collecting our annual dues of $20, which fund a variety of things throughout the year, including out MeetUp memberships and our infamous holiday party. This nominal fee allows you to say - with a straight face - that you’re a member in good standing of Las Vegas’ most friendly and informative woodworking group. As always - dues are suggested, but never mandatory. So please - consider contributing to our worthy cause!
This meeting will be held at Studio: Wood It Is!, 2267 West Gowan, unit 106 in North Las Vegas. As always, the public is welcome to attend the meeting, so members - please feel free to bring a guest along. But remember that there are a limited number of chairs in the woodshop. Attendees might want to bring a folding chair if they wish to sit during the meeting.
If you have questions or need directions, call the studio at 631-1870.
