Logs for carving

Does anybody know where I can get logs for carving. Maybe some palm or any other soft or medium woods would do perfectly. I know of a wood yard on Rancho and I just have to pick through what they have which is all chopped up for firewood so its not always the best for my projects.

At last Wednesday's meeting Jamie showed a pile of logs that one of her students brings in from California. Give her a call at Wooditis to find out more about them.
