At the first Sketchbookers social I spoke to a few of you about meeting for a first event in Castlefield. It's central, an easy first location, local to most, and has a good variety of subjects to draw, paint, collage and photograph - train and tram bridges, viaducts, the fort, the canals, locks, house and canal boats, the old and converted warehouses as well the newer architecture and the overall cityscape.
If there is bad weather then there is loads of places inside (pubs, bars, cafes) and outside (under bridges) to shelter.
Lets meet up, draw for a few hours, then have a pub lunch and then either move location to take a peek and draw at the Museum of Science and Industry and the Castlefield Market (open every Sunday, http://castlefieldmarket.org.uk), or carry on drinking in the pub. ;o)
Bring your sketchbook, a flask of coffee, warm clothes, a bag of different things to sketch, draw and paint with, your wallet, a small hangover from the night before and a pinch of creative curiosity. ;o)
I look forward to seeing some familiar and new faces.
