Wings of War: Famous Aces (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=24) is a very straightforward and simple board game that simulates airplane fighting from World War I. It takes minutes to learn, and is incredibly dynamic and fun!
You pilot your plane and plan out the next few maneuvers you'll be doing, and then all players move their planes simultaneously, playing out the maneuvers they've chosen and taking damage if they cross their opponents path during the maneuvers.
The basic set (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=24&esem=1) includes a deck of historically accurate planes, and each plane uses a combination of maneuver decks and damage decks that recreate the capabilities of each individual plane. Some planes can perform maneuvers that others can't, have a greater capability for damage when they can hit, and have better durability and this is all factored into the deck selection.
To make it even more interesting, you can get historically accurate, pre-painted miniatures (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=24&esem=2&esum=65) of each plane in each set, and you can purchase a variety of battle mats (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=24&esem=2&esum=121) to enact your aerial battles out above. There are also several expansions (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=24&esem=2&esum=64) to the game to add more variety into your aerial combat!
For this demo, we'll have a variety of the miniatures and a basic battle mat in addition to the standard game.
