Our events are open to both men and women. We support writers of all backgrounds and those interested in writing. We welcome aspiring writers and non-writing Friends.
The Society of Women Writers and Journalists is the UK's longest-established Society for professional women writers. The SWWJ is an international association, and is affiliated to women's associations worldwide.
We are a non political, professional society for women writers and journalists. We recognise the professional skills of our members and we protect their interests in their professional work. We promote opportunities for women to write and to be heard, and we defend their rights to do so no matter what their race, religion or geographic location.
We welcome aspiring writers and non-writing Friends . Men are also very welcome.

For our 125th birthday, we will be looking at the past present and future of this society, who's members and patrons have included greats such as Victoria Wood and Joyce Grenfell. Please email any dietary requirements.
