Join Randy for a beautiful wildflower hike through Mitchell Canyon. We will hike up Mitchell Canyon to the end of Red Road. This route follows Mitchell Creek, bringing to life a well-established riparian ecosystem. We'll also see a chaparral ecosystem—one that covers a large part of Mount Diablo. The hike will be a total of under 5 miles, with about 600 feet elevation gain. This is a simple out and back hike that can be easily shortened if desired. No dogs are allowed at Mitchell Canyon. Parking is $6, and restrooms are available at the hike starting point. Hiking poles are helpful, but not necessary for this hike.
Randy can be reached at 925-518-8439, in the event of any questions or coordination problems.
