I'm back!!! Yes it's been a while since I last hosted a meetup for The Sydney Photography Meetup Group, but it time I do so again. I hope you haven't missed me.
Anyways, Sydney City is hosting the Fun Run flash mob on the first day of the Sydney Festival. An exciting and colourful way to start off the new year. There'll be lots of people all dressed up, dancing in-sync to steps they have learnt online. There will be DJs as well. Feel free to photograph the dancers and feel free to be part of the dancing as well.
We will meet at the steps of St Mary's Cathedral at 9:30am. We will probably spend till 11am shooting (or dancing) and for those that want to meet back for a quick drink, we will be at the steps of St Mary's Cathedral at 11ish.
Here's the blurb of the event on the Sydney City Festival website:
When the Greek messenger Pheidippides ran to Athens to announce the defeat of Persia in the battle of Marathon, he ran 42.2 kilometres without stopping, burst into the Athenian assembly, delivered his news and died on the spot. FUN RUN is his story.
This athletic celebration lifts you from curious onlooker to dancing cheerleader, as our sporting hero ‘Humphrey’ runs a marathon on stage. Supported by DJs, pyrotechnics and his own dance troupe ‘Haus da Humps’, Sydneysiders are invited to join hundreds of local sports and community groups as they dance, ride, flex and cheer ‘Humps’ across the finish line.
