In April I will be holding South London's first ever "Chilli Sauce Championships". Contestants will be submitting their own homemade Chilli Sauces to be rated by you, the public. You will be tasting sauces with influences from around the world, so expect to see flavours of India, Thailand, Jamaica and Africa.
If you don't like it hot hot hot, no need to be scared - it's not all about the heat. It's about depth of flavour, and providing a tongue tingling taste sensation. There will be a range of sauces to sample, from mild to nuclear.
There will also be a second judging category for "Chilli Condiments". This category will cover jams, pickles, chutneys and preserves.
Our venue is The Wheatsheaf in Tooting Broadway (recently converted from old man's pub into a quirky and funky boozer).
Event starts at 3pm, and the winners will be announced at 5:30pm. Then in the evening I have hired the upstairs of Lahore Karahi for an early evening Indian Banquet for £15 a head with BYO booze. (40 places available. See me on the day and write your name on the list, first come first served)
