FROCK WALK Longniddry to North Berwick Beach Walk 14 miles Grade B

  • Edinburgh Waverley station

    Princes St, Edinburgh (map)

    55.951241 -3.200839

  • I will be on the train from Edinburgh to North Berwick
  • Because I like to walk in a frock, and many people have said that everyone should, now is your opportunity to do so.

As fancy as you like, from FULL DRAG (everyone), to party frocks to kilts, or even a long tshirt or a sarong

This is a great walk that starts by going through the grounds of Gosford House, then follows a bit of the John Muir Way into Aberlady.  We the go through a nature reserve so NO DOGS PLEASE to the coast, which we walk along until North Berwick

Get the 09.30 train from Glasgow Queen St station to Edinburgh Waverley. Buy a return ticket to North Berwick which costs £19.50.  At Edinburgh change trains to the 10.43 to North Berwick often tucked away on a far platform , I will be on that train. Get off at LONGNIDDRY station. We then walk to North Berwick and get the train back.

We will start walking from Longniddry station at 11AM sharp If you are travelling by car we will meet you at Longniddry Station.  It's helpful if you let me know you're joining us here

Our trip time will be around 5 hours at a brisk pace. I plan to have a birthday  drink in North Berwick, and hope you will join me in the pub. Trains back are hourly at 20 past the hour

Dogs are not permitted on this walk as we will be going though Aberlady Nature Reserve where they are banned.

Walking climbing, hill walking and mountaineering and going to the pub are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement

Afterward please join me in the Ship Inn to celebrate my birthday

Because we will be finishing up walking in the dark, please bring a torch, a light up wand or fairy lights

This is a joint meeting with the Edinburgh Walking and Socialising Group
