About that "Stepping Down" email you got - Nope, I didn't step down

Dear all,

So, I had a bit of a kerfuffle with Meetup.com and the lack of renewal meant that they stepped me down. I had to renew and pay the Meetup.com fee to be the organizer again, almost on the spot (yes, we Organizers have to actually pay to organize the meetup - which is why I was collecting meetup fee - to distribute amongst all participants the cost, instead of having to front it all by myself).

So, in real terms, NO, I haven't stepped down. That being said, I've been receiving emails from people who seem interested to be the organizer. So I'm taking polls as to whether you want me to stay or not. Not because I really want to step down, but just because I've received expressions of interest from other people.

I have worked really hard since about April of 2008 as the assistant organizer and then in May 2008 as the actual primary Organizer to keep the momentum of Vancouver Bloggers Meetup going. The number of attendees that we've had has been consistently in the range of 35-55 people, and I enjoy being the organizer (even if sometimes it is some work to find the right venue).

So, there you have it. I haven't stepped down, but I'm happy to do so if there's enough interest on the part of participants to have a change at the helm.

Best,
Raul
