A gifted facilitator, she really supports people to move into areas of their own thinking with curiosity and compassion. Working with Caitlin I have had many “a-ha” moments myself, and I have benefited enormously from Caitlin’s application of The Work in different settings. Caitlin’s also just a tremendous person, and if you have a chance to attend one of her workshops, do it! You won’t regret, and you will be different when you leave! — Tuesday Ryan-Hart, Confluence Unlimited, Columbus OH, “ It is my experience that this Work gives me the opportunity to truly realize for myself, in the most challenging areas of my own life, what I hear from spiritual teachers when they speak and write about peace, acceptance, connection and love. After practicing meditation and yoga for decades, I am still amazed at the multitude of thoughts that arise in my mind, and at how disruptive they can be when they remain unquestioned. I would wholeheartedly recommend this retreat (in the Work) to anyone who is interested in bringing balance, peace and poise from the meditation seat and yoga mat into the other hours of the day and night. — Vivian Chenard, Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, BC

  • Introduction to The Work of Byron Katie

    My home

Other than what you are thinking and believing, are you okay? ~ Byron Katie When we believe our stressful thoughts, we suffer; when we question them, we can find peace and set ourselves free to experience life fully. This evening will provide an introduction to The Work of Byron Katie, and is an opportunity to learn more about upcoming courses and events. Are you interested in learning a powerful and transformative practice in an engaging evening of inquiry? Anyone who struggles with their stressful thoughts in depression, addiction, anxiety, relationship conflicts, illness, loss, etc., will benefit from this practice. The Work, founded by Byron Katie, is a way to identify and question the thoughts that cause all the stress and suffering in our lives. When we guide people through inquiry, they find that their stressful beliefs—about life, other people, or themselves—radically shift and their lives are changed forever. The Work is an astonishingly simple process, accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, and requires nothing more than a pen, paper, and an open mind. Through this process, anyone can learn to trace unhappiness to its source and deal with it there. In its most basic form, The Work consists of four questions and the turnarounds. People who do The Work as an ongoing practice commonly report alleviation of depression; decreased stress living with less anxiety/fear; improved relationships; reduced anger and less reactivity; increased mental clarity; more energy, well-being; and more peace. I invite all to learn more (before and after) at www.surati.ca (http://www.surati.ca/) and at www.thework.com. By donation.

  • Money Mind - Transforming Limiting Beliefs about Money with The Work

Mount Seymour United Church|(none religious event)

One-day workshop with Caitlin Frost, Certified Facilitator of The Work. All experience levels welcome. Join us to inquire into the money stories that cause stress and keep you stuck. I have found applying The Work to my stressful thinking and deeper stories about Money has been profoundly freeing not only in my relationship to money but in unexpected other ways. I have witnessed that also for the many people I have worked with on this topic over the years. Money stories can run deep and inquiry brings light into that space. What are the stories and assumptions you carry about money that limit you and cause stress? Where does your own thinking about money keep you impoverished and stuck (whether you have money or not?) What important money conversations are you not having in your personal life or business? Our stress, confusion, attachment and thinking about money can be the focus of a substantial amount of our time and life energy. It can also impact our lives unconsciously, as we seek or avoid money, or carry stressful stories about what we believe we need, what will happen if we have it or if we don't and what it all means about who we are and what is possible in our lives. Whether you are wanting to be able to work with and talk about money more clearly and confidently, or wanting it to have less power in your life, our beliefs and stories about money can be limiting and stressful as we navigate a world that has money as a central reference point and practical reality. What could it mean to live life really free in your thinking about money? The Work gives us a way to access that place. Come and learn or deepen your practice together with others. i hope you can join us! Join us to inquire into the money stories that cause stress and keep you stuck. http://www.caitlinfrost.ca/programs/2018/6/9/money-mind-with-transforming-limiting-beliefs-the-work-of-byron-katie What are the stories and assumptions you carry about money that limit you and cause stress? Whether you are wanting to be able to work with and talk about money more clearly and confidently, or wanting it to have less power in your life, our beliefs and stories about money can be limiting and stressful as we navigate a world that has money as a central reference point and practical reality. We are raised surrounded by stories about money, and most of us live in environments where money is a central focus, and is connected to many areas of our lives: our work, our family and social relationships, our identity, our motivation, our sense of success, our safety, and even our survival. So it is no wonder we have so many confusing (and sometimes conflicting) stories about money, and can find it challenging to have open, honest conversations about money. What could it mean to live life really free in your thinking about money? …whether you have a lot of money or only a little bit (or somewhere in between) The Work is a simple yet powerful self-inquiry tool for working directly with your own thinking and limiting beliefs in the places you get stuck and experience stress. As a practice it enables you to resolve issues, shift underlying patterns and access more possibility thinking, peace, clarity and wise action in your life, relationships and work. • Loving What Is - A Weekend in The Work

    Location visible to members

    CA$195.00

Loving What is - A Weekend in The Work “Reality—the way it is, exactly as it is, in every moment—is always kind. It’s our story about reality that blurs our vision, obscures what’s true, and leads us to believe that there is injustice in the world. I sometimes say that you move totally away from reality when you believe that there is a legitimate reason to suffer. When you believe that any suffering is legitimate, you become a champion of suffering, the perpetuator of it in yourself.” ~Byron Katie You're invited to join me in my beautiful island home for two days of mindful inquiry in a group environment, identifying and questioning the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck, lower your confidence, create conflict with others and leave you feeling at odds with the world. Using this simple yet radical process, we can set ourselves free to live an inspired and peaceful life. We will spend time practicing the tools provided in The Work, deepening into mindfulness meditation, and holding space for each other with an open mind. By inquiring into the stories we have been telling about life we open up a space for our own realizations and wake ourselves up to a kinder reality and clear mind. This workshop is an opportunity to practice The Work with the freedom of “beginner’s mind,” no matter what your level of experience is. Shared accommodation is available at my home and I can provide recommendations for nearby places in the area. Arrival Friday evening is recommended and a meet and greet evening planned. Prerequisite: Please read "The little book" available as free download at http://www.thework.com/downloads/ Contribution: $195 - sliding scale available, accommodation extra. Please rsvp on meet up and I will provide registration details. "What is Is - The only time we suffer is when we believe a thought that argues with what is. When the mind is perfectly clear, what is is what we want." ~BK
