Permaculture Vancouver Monthly Meetup! (No meetup in December)

  • This location is shown only to members

  • NO Meetup this month. Potlucks resume in January. Happy Holidays from Permacultue Vancouver and Village Vancouver!

Last month's meetup details: Village Vancouver East Community Potluck

    potluck 6:30

discussion 7:30pm: Looking ahead + Exploring 2017  Village Vancouver Permaculture and Gardening Opportunities

In the past we've had a monthly potluck with a free workshop every month (e.g. making kimchi & sauerkraut, water kefir & kombucha, bicycle maintenance, etc.). This month, we're moving to a new location (Strathcona Park Fieldhouse), and will be planning some new workshops, exploring upcoming permaculture and gardening opportunities, and deciding on a new day of the month to meet. (Note: NO potluck in December.) Come with something yummy and your ideas for workshops!

Keep your eyes and tummy out for other community meals with Village Vancouver (Vancouver's Transition Town Hub.)  We currently hold 3 monthly potlucks  - East (@Strathcona Fieldhouse), West End (@West End Community Centre, in conjunction with West Neighbourhood Food Network) and Main St./Riley Park (@Little Mtn. Neighbourhood House). Typically, a workshop or discussion follows the meal.

VV also holds potlucks (or other shared meals) once in a while in other neighbourhoods, including False Creek South, Grandview-Woodland, Kits, Marpole-Oakridge, Mount Pleasant, and West Point Grey.

Village Vancouver holds over 300 workshops, events, and activities a year. For more information, please visit or join: www.villagevancouver.ca or contact Ross Moster at [masked].

Permaculture is about creating sustainable human habitats. It's about taking the energy from the land and encouraging it to cycle back into the land, to reuse it as many times as possible before letting it go (out to the sea of entropy, where we can't use it any more) so for example, a piece of land receives sun, wind, and rain. If we catch those... and use them judiciously, we can make our garden grow, and feed animals who will poop and return that to the land, and pretty soon we have better soil, better food, some protection, and eventually something to build with.
