Explore the world of wine with Tuesday Wine Club!
Meetup and take the opportunity in a small group to taste and discuss one varietal, region, or class of wines.
This week we're heading to the heart of old world Europe! With a feature on "Wines from Spain" I have to admit, I am very uneducated about Spanish wines, and am looking to focus and learn as much as anyone at this event...!
As a small group, we will each bring a bottle of wine that fits the criteria "From Spain"
Each bottle will be discussed and shared with the group.
You will have the opportunity to taste a 2oz pour of each wine, discuss its taste profile, and learn about the wine.
What is Required:
You are required to bring one bottle of wine that meets the theme.
What is Provided:
The host (Drew) will provide the space for the tasting at a location in Kitsilano near Arbutus and Broadway. Wine glasses will also be provided, along with a light assortment of crackers and cheese and lots of water.
What is Recommended:
It is recommended that you post to the event page as soon as possible to identify the wine you will be bringing - this will avoid the unlikely event of duplicate bottles.
Please research your wine (even if it is "low price point") online or at the store and bring a few things to say about it, and why you bought it. If you bought it because it has a pretty label, that is totally acceptable! we are an open minded group! Topics include the wine-maker, history, region, varietal, etc. If you would like the host to introduce your wine, simply let them know when you register and he'll speak about it in your place.
What You'll Experience:
This is a great way to try a a variety of wines in a comfortable, friendly environment. There will be a long table, with tasting glasses, as well as space to sit and discuss, at the host's house. The host will provide an introduction to the week's theme and also some notes on tasting if there is interest.
You will get to learn about each wine, and about this week's theme.
You will also get to meet some amazing people and wine enthusiasts!
If the meetup is full - Spaces do open up so keep your options open and place yourself on the wait-list or email the host as there can be last-minute changes.
