Happy New Year Woolies. All the best in 2013 to you and your families. We're off south for 5 months. I'm looking forward to catching up with the Woolies in June. Cheers, Ann

I agree. It bodes well for the future.
A new record of attendees. Good discussions and much laughter. Oh, and some knitting and crocheting.

Sorry to miss out tonight. See you soon!
Nice to get out for an evening to see what everyone's been up to. And I have the loan of double-pointed needles to finish my project! THANK YOU! :D
Thanks Ladies! Jim
Can anyone bring an extra set of needles and some yarn for me to practice on ? I would like to try this! If I enjoy it, I will purchase my own stuff. Thanks to anyone if you can:) Jim
Hey Jim! I will bring some needles for you to use tonight. I am just learning myself. See you soon!:)
Oh, good: another male joins the flock! Where I'm from, a guy who can knit is the rule rather than the exception - the afghan on my bed was knitted by my late husband as a birthday gift. I'll bring the book I taught myself to knit with. Very practical, it assumes you know nothing and are starting from scratch (which I was).
Jenny, your comment about knitting being meditative reminds me of the book I'm working through: Mindful Knitting. It ties in well with my Buddhist practice. Have you seen it, or would you like me to bring my copy so you can have a look?

Thanks for the offer beth, that would be wonderful to look at the book! I will also check my stash to see if I have the needles you need. Does it matter what material (wood, metal, etc) and length of DPN?
Happy to oblige; I've tucked it into my knitting bag so I won't be halfway to town before remembering it. :) The needles are for a pair of flip-top gloves I was knitting for my husband...who died 16 months ago. Talk about an interrupted project! I'm pretty new at 2-pointed knitting, but find it straightforward once the pattern's established, so I don't think needle material matters. (The originals were metal, stolen from the hospital room after I slipped the stitches onto 2 long needles to get a better grasp of the pattern).
I'm determined to spend more time with my Mindful Knitting this year. I have to do a bunch of things to get ready for court (paperwork - and relax, I'm just a witness), but everything should be done before 7. Buddha willing. (PS....anyone got a spare set of 2.25 mm double-ended needles for sale cheap? Got a project to finish, needles are gone, and budget is very tight. Please and thankyou).
Happy New Year!
