Yo! The Blazers are takin' it on the road- Stunt Road. We're climbing the fire road off Stunt Road in Calabasas, working along a narrow ridge, up to the famed graffiti slab, then hip-hopping our way down switchbacks and parts of the Backbone Trail into an oak grove. We may pull the tour bus over for some ocean views- we'll see.
The loop takes us 8-10 miles (math is overrated), with 1700' of elevation gain.
Part of the trail is high, narrow, and rocky- those with a fear of heights might want to think twice. Those heights do afford incredible views of the valley below and the sandstone giants of Calabasas. I could go on and on about what makes this hike bad ass, but most of you MTV Generationers have stopped reading by now, so just get yourself to this hike for a rockin' good time. Believe dat!
From Thousand Oaks: Take the 101 Freeway, exit on Las Virgenes Road and head south for 3 miles. Turn left on Mulholland Highway. Travel about 4 miles and turn right on Stunt Road. Continue up Stunt Road for 1 mile to the Calabasas Peak Motorway (on the left). There is plenty of parking on the right side of the road.
From the Valley & West LA: Take the 101 Freeway, exit Valley Circle/Mulholland Drive and go south on Mulholland for ½ mile, turn right on to Valmar Road which becomes Old Topanga Canyon Rd. Take a right on Mulholland Hwy and continue for about 3 miles and turn left onto Stunt Road. Continue up Stunt Road for 1 mile to the Calabasas Peak Motorway (on the left). There is plenty of parking on the right side of the road.
For those who wonder what the hell the title refers to, it's an homage to the Icy Hot Stuntaz (Stunt Road, G!), internet sensations, and stars of parodies all over cyberspace. Dressing like a white boy wannabe optional on this hike.
