Welcome Trailblazers ! ...I'm back!..and I know...a bunch of M's!. If you wake up early enough before your Memorial day holiday festivities I will lead you on a nice 10 ish mile out and back hike up the secret trail to Conejo Peak!. One of the highest peaks in the Santa Monica Mountains at an Altitude of 2854 ft. . Conejo Peak sits slightly higher than Boney Mountain and in line of site with Sandstone and Tripeaks. The lookout points from the top of this ridge offer some beautiful views of the whole Boney range toward the southwest, and open views of the Conejo Valley, Hidden Valley, Lake Sherwood, Ladyface peak and all surrounding mountain/ valley areas.

From the Potrero road trailhead we head out to the Hidden valley overlook trail and follow it toward hidden valley to a secret single track trail that does some climbing and eventually ties into an equestrian trail that leads us up to Conejo peak overlook. It's a little under 5 miles to the top with about 2400 +/- ft of elevation gain. The equestrian trail is similar to a less traveled fire road. At the top, the trail tees to two different view points, both worth seeing. We will take a lunch/ snack break at the top to catch our breaths and relax a little before heading back to our starting point.

So start your holiday off with a hike I'm sure most of you have never done....Conejo Peak!, not to be confused with Conejo mountain

Hiking 10 miles with[masked] ft of total elevation should be a great workout!, with plenty of time to chat and enjoy the views of our Santa Monica Mountains and some of Conejo valleys most incredible viewpoints....Hope you can join me
