Welcome Trailblazers!, We welcome daylight savings with a full route out n back hike up and more up to Simi Peak.ThIs hike will be an 8 mile out and back with 1800' of elevation gain from Lang Ranch parkway to Simi Peak. Our route is principally on the Albertson Fire Road, which goes from the trailhead eastward all the way to Upper Las Virgenes Canyon, and is a favorite route for hikers and mountain bikers alike. We'll turn off this hilly fire road after about three miles and head south for about one mile, on a single track trail, across China Flats and then up to the commanding views of 2400-foot Simi Peak. Hope you all can join me!

The Albertson Fire Road is an especially scenic route in both directions, rising up above the Simi and Conejo Valleys and offering westward views of the Pacific and offshore islands. China Flats was the site of Back to the Future 3's wild west scenes. At Simi Peak, we will enjoy breath-taking views of the Simi Valley, Conejo Valley, San Fernando Valley, Oxnard Plains, Pacific Ocean, and the Channel Islands.

This hike is exposed almost the entire way, and the sun has a way of sneaking up on you even on a temperate day. Bring plenty of water and portable shade.

Free on-street parking is available at the trailhead.

From the East, West & South – take the 101 toward Thousand Oaks. Exit at Westlake Boulevard and turn north (away from the ocean). Drive 4.1 miles and turn right on the Lang Ranch Parkway. Continue 0.8 miles and park where the Lang Ranch Parkway makes a sharp left.
