Note start time, 5:00 PM. Since everything in the Conejo Valley is closed-up from the fires we needed something new, but not too far away. Happy Camp Canyon seems to work, for now. Joanne and I scouted this out the other night. We walked several miles up the canyon and some distance past the golf course, returned in the dark, and no one yelled at us or asked us to leave. There's little elevation gain in the first few miles, it's a wide dirt road, and we encountered only one wee rattlesnake plus numerous rabbits. For the posted hike, we'll be starting out at the end of Campus Park drive and parking in the nearby neighborhood. There's a gate at the park entrance and I don't want to get anyone locked in (although it was open the entire time we were there). I'll be standing around near the intersection of Campus Park Drive and Cambridge Street looking lost. We should have some moonlight to help us out.

Same routine: bring water, a head lamp or flashlight, snacks to share, and be prepared to have fun.

If you have questions, they'll have to wait as I'm in the eastern Mojave until late Sunday.

If raining at start of hike I will cancel hike. Dog(s) must be on leash for entire hike.
