Please join me for another Humpday hike with the Weekday Trailblazers. This hike should have some spectacular sunset views as we squeeze in the mileage to be able to enjoy the evening transition in a unique and beautiful area of the Conejo Valley. This will be a moderately strenuous 7-8 mile out and back loop with[masked] ft. of elevation gain. We start at the Sunset hills trailhead and climb up to views of the Woodranch reservior(Bard revervior), then continue around the langranch community working our way up to almost connecting to the Albertson Motorway. We'll enjoy rolling hills with views of Simi Peak, Simi valley, Boney mountain, and the Thousand Oaks area. At the bench view point when we've peaked we'll take a brief break to enjoy a snack, soak in the views before heading back to the trailhead.
Please wear – brush-resistant pants/shorts, one or more wicking shirts appropriate to the temperature, comfortable hiking shoes or light boots, your favorite undergarments and accessories, and a light backpack.
Please bring – at least two liters of water, snacks, an extra layer of clothing, a charged cell phone, identification, a headlamp, a small first-aid kit, bug repellant and sunscreen, a waterproof shell if rain is forecast, and any medications or anything else you might need on the trail.
