Details

After a short walk from the parking area to get to the trailhead, we'll hike along the so-called "Sherwood Forest" trail in the shade of huge oak trees. Then we climb up an easy slope to the Vista Loop trail where we'll overlook Thousand Oaks, then head back down to the canyons for more hiking under the canopy of oak trees. We hiked here last March; here's the photo gallery (http://www.venturacountytrails.org/RecentPhotos/2011-03-09LosRoblesScenicLoop/_Page.html).

Statistics: 4.2 miles with about 625' of climbing.

Pace: This is a gentler hike. We will go at a more moderate pace than a regular Trailblazer hike, and we'll take more breaks. The purpose is to give novice and intermediate hikers who may feel they're not up to a regular hike a chance to get out and experience our beautiful trails. Faster hikers are welcome to come along, with the understanding that the hike is geared toward those who want to go at an easier pace.

Directions: From the 101 in Thousand Oaks, turn south on Moorpark Road. Drive 0.5 miles to the parking area at the corner of Greenmeadows Ave.
