Please join me for another Hump Day Hike with the Weekday Trailblazers!.

This hike will be 5-7 miles of moderately strenuous hiking with[masked] feet of elevation gain.

Wildwood Park is rich in historic and archaeological resources, unusual geological formations, and is home to a wide range of plant and animal life. the Chumash lived here for nearly 8,000 years until the early 19th Century. During the Spanish colonization of California, the land became part of "Rancho El Conejo" in 1803. Catttle and sheep grazed on these rich grasslands through much of the 20th Century. From the 1930's through the 1960's numerous Hollywood movies were filmed here, including "Spartacus" and "Wuthering Heights", as well as TV Series "Wagon Train", "The Rifleman", and "Gunsmoke.

We will head out from Park entrance trailhead to the Mooridge trail into Wildwood canyon, then head east on the lynnmere trail to Lynn rd, then cut back west down to the Indian creek trail where we'll take a quick break to enjoy a snack before heading up Indian creek to the waterfall overlook then back to the parking lot.
