The First Girly Book Club

Hi Ladies,

Welcome to the 62nd chapter of the Girly Book Club. We operate all over the world in 12 different countries. We have five chapters in and around the GTA (Richmond Hill, Etobicoke, Oakville and Toronto) and we are thrilled to be launching in Whitby.

If you'd like to find out more about us visit our homesite www.girlybookclub.com

We are a for-profit all female start up and do charge a small fee for our meetings - if you want to find out more about the fee please visit us here.

In the meantime - if you've just found us - please pick up a copy of June's book and get started reading.

If you want to find out more about hosting opportunities please get in touch. We have a host but she's looking for some help moving forward!

The book for June is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. We promote buying locale so we will be working on a partnership with your local bookshop and will announce that in due course - for now, here is the amazon link.

We look forward to meeting you!

Thank you ladies for coming out tonight. It was very nice to meet you all. I hope you enjoyed our casual conversation about this months book and getting to know each other. Steph and I look forward to seeing you again Tuesday, July 25 at 7:30 at Baton Rouge in Whitby. Thanks again from coming from Ajax, Oshawa and Whitby of course. Take care and enjoy July's read: The Unseen World by Liz Moore.

How much of the book should we read before the 20th?

Finishing the book is not mandatory, however, keep in mind parts and possibly the ending can be discussed. Just be okay to hear about the story before you've read it. Thanks for asking. We look forward to meeting you. Diane

I see the next meeting is at Baton Rouge restaurant. Is this being held in a private room/area for our group? Or are we just meeting in the restaurant? If that's the case, do I assume the establishment expects members will be purchasing food and/or drinks? Just trying to determine actual cost of attending. Thx

Hi there, as a courtesy to the restaurant we encourage members to buy at least a beverage. It's up to you if you'd like to order more. We realize some of you might have eaten already or will need to have dinner depending on your situation.

I'm going to be a bit late, I hope that's not a problem! I normally work til 7:30 on Tuesdays, I'll make sure to get off a bit early but I still won't make it by 7:00. Let me know if this is ok please. Really looking forward to it!
