Scarr and Lough Dan - Wicklow



Details Walking time: approx 3 - 4hrs Graded: Moderate Meeting: 10:30 at Roundwood Pickups: Maldron Hotel, Tallaght 9:45am and Luas Balally (Dundrum) at 10:00am Price: €25 Includes Guides and Transport Details of the Walk: Starting from old bridge we will follow a forest track up towards a small laneway. This will eventually bring us out onto the side of Scarr Mountain. We will then walk out onto a Spur and take this way up to the summit. As we ascend we will start to see Lough Dan coming into view behind us. Continuing on this trail we will make our way to the top. Once we are the top we should be able to see into the Wicklow Gap and the Glenmacnass waterfall below us with Tonlegee rising up on it’s other side. What to expect: Forest track, open mountain top trails. From the summit we should have 360 views of the Wicklow mountains park, the coastline of Wicklow and Dublin.. Full Moon Walk in Enniskerry



Takes Place on Jan 19th at 6pm in Enniskerry Meet For Enniskerry: At the Clock Tower (Center of the village) 17:45pm These Full Moon Walks are an excellent opportunity to see beautiful landscape by the light of the moon.The walks will be short 2-3 hr walks. You will visit some of the most scenic parts of Wicklow and Dublin, places such as Glendalough, Luggala, Djouce and many more. If you have never had the opportunity to do some night walking then don't miss this as it's an altogether different experience. Transport: There is a Public Bus from the 44 that will bring you to Enniskerry. http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/Your-Journey1/Timetables/All-Timetables/444/ About the walk: The walk will place close to Enniskerry village. We will walk on Carrickgollogan and take many of the great wooded trails along the way. There are fantastic 360 degree views from the top of this small hill across the eastern coastline of Dublin and Wicklow. The tracks is very good easy to walk on and we will also pass by the Ballycorus Lead mines Chimney. This is a fantastic walk and easily manageable by most people. Lugnaquillia - Leinsters Highest Point



Lugnaquillia - Leinster's Highest Point Height: 925 metres OSI : Mapsheet: 56 Meeting: Blessington 10am Walking time: approx 5 hrs. Price: €25 Lugnaquilla is the highest mountain in County Wicklow and Leinster; it is also a Munro (i.e. hill above 3000ft). There are many possible ways to approach the summit of this Mountain from all directions. No Boots, No Walk Details: Starting from Fenton’s Pub in the Glen of Imaal near Donard we will take a trail onto Camarahill. There is a steep enough ascent onto the summit of Camara hill but once this has been done you really have broken the back of the walk. Then we move on towards the summit of Lugnaquillia (Munro) 925m highest point in Leinster. From here there are excellent views in all directions and on a clear day you can see the mountains of Mourne, all the peaks in Wicklow and even as far as Wales. After we have had a bite to eat we will make our descent the way we came up. What to expect: Old dirt roads, open mountain top trails. From the summit we should have 360 views of the Wicklow Mountains National park. How to get there: Take the N81 from Dublin and out past Tallaght. Keep on this road and eventually you will reach Blessington Village. We will at a car park to your right just past “The West Wicklow House”.
