Alright team - another close vote - this time we ended up settling on Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence, the 1921 Pulitzer Prize winner which explores the troubled internal conflicts of the upper class of NYC in the 1900's.

This is a nice choice for the club as we'll be reading The Great Gatsby later in the year, since both express a critique of the high society of their prospective times, and also hint at the decline of the American dream going into the Great Depression at the end of the decade. Looks like a winner in my eyes as it definitely is a reflection of the time period - hope to see you all there!
