What we're about
Yoga of Writing is a place for yogi-writers and writer-yogis to come together for various social events and to take classes that mix practicing yoga with writing lessons and guided writing exercise. You will learn how to deepen your writing through yoga and deepen your yoga practice through writing. The group's leader believes that the ancient practice of yoga can help one to be a more embodied writer who can heal oneself and better serve the world.
Brad Wetzler, M.S. and RYT-200, began his journey as a professional writer, editor, and teacher more than 20 years ago when he graduated with a masters degree in journalism from Northwestern University and went to work as an editor at Outside magazine. During a long career as a magazine feature writer, he traveled the world and published articles in The New York Times, GQ, Newsweek, Wired, Men's Journal, Outside, and other publications. His yoga journey began in 1994 when he took his first yoga class in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Since then, he's studied many types of yoga and learned from many notable teachers in both Santa Fe and Boulder. His approach to teaching writing is to empower his students with the basic tools of solid storytelling. He also teaches his students to see writing and storytelling as powerful tools for spiritual growth.
