ZH3 Hash #1113: National Chicken Wing Appreciation Day Hash
Hares are Christian Harlot and Grab My Sack. This will be an A to B trail. Bag drop will be a car. B will be a short walk back to a bus stop. There will be NO ON INN. We will be using a grill spot to make chicken wings. There will be an EXTRA charge of 5 CHF for those wishing to eat chicken wings with us. Meet at 6.45pm to start at 7.00pm. There will be a charge of CHF5.00 for participating. First time? Here's what you need to know: • The aim of the hash is to find the beer stop at the end and have fun. • "True" trail is typically 6-7km. • The pace within the group varies from dead-slow movers (we call them DFLs) to over-achieving fast runners (we call them FRBs) • The "hare" cleverly lays the trail so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • If you are a slow runner, you will clock around 7kms. • If you are a quick runner you will clock around 10kms. • If you are a walker you will be dedicated to the cause, ignore trail and take the shortest route possible to get to the beer. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and often a place to change. • There is a charge of CHF5 for participating (and includes beer and snacks). • If you like fun, drinking and doing something a bit different you will probably enjoy hashing. Humourless people need not apply. For more about Zürich Hash House Harriers, check out ( ) Want to know more about the origins of hashing? follow this link ( )

What we're about

Public Group

The Hash House Harriers are an International Group founded in 1938 with over 70,000 active worldwide members. We are a social running (we have a lot of walkers as well!) group that focuses on on the social element rather than just running. This is why we also welcome slow runners, power walkers and other walkers.

We meet regularly every Thursday and on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month. Anybody can join by showing up at the designated meeting point of the day.

Our aim is to bring together local Swiss people and expats who want to socialise and have a bit of exercise at the same time. It's a great forum to meet new friends and potentially travel internationally as we have a large number of International Events.

Members come in all shapes & sizes, races, ages and fitness levels. We cater for young and old, fast or slow, fit or 'not-so-fit'! The main prerequisites are a sense of humour, willingness to meet new people,open-mindedness, tolerance and a general sense of fun. We are mainly English-speaking but most of us can speak (some) German..Most of our Swiss members are fluent in about 4 languages!

More information can be found on our main site and on the Meetup information page. (

The planned future events are on Meetup and our main site. We also have organisers ('hares') lined up for some weeks ahead. If you would like to see who will organise in future, or would like to see free dates when you could set a trail, you can check the hareline ( If you'd like more information on how to set trails see the hares guide (
