What we’re about
The Hash House Harriers are an International Group founded in 1938 with over 70,000 active worldwide members. We are a social running (we have a lot of walkers as well!) group that focuses on on the social element rather than just running. This is why we also welcome slow runners, power walkers and other walkers.
We meet regularly every Thursday and on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month. Anybody can join by showing up at the designated meeting point of the day.
Our aim is to bring together local Swiss people and expats who want to socialise and have a bit of exercise at the same time. It's a great forum to meet new friends and potentially travel internationally as we have a large number of International Events.
Members come in all shapes & sizes, races, ages and fitness levels. We cater for young and old, fast or slow, fit or 'not-so-fit'! The main prerequisites are a sense of humour, willingness to meet new people,open-mindedness, tolerance and a general sense of fun. We are mainly English-speaking but most of us can speak (some) German..Most of our Swiss members are fluent in about 4 languages!
More information can be found on our main site www.zh3.ch and on the Meetup information page.
The planned future events are on Meetup and our main site. We also have organisers ('hares') lined up for some weeks ahead. If you would like to see who will organise in future, or would like to see free dates when you could set a trail, you can check the hareline. If you'd like more information on how to set trails see the hares guide.
If we do not accept your meetup request then it is probably because we have had a lot of spam accounts request membership recently, If this happens to you just come along anyway one evening. You will be more than welcome and we will sort out the meetup group membership later.

As last year SOLA allows all genders to run any of the stretches. The race starts with a leg 1 at 7:30 (all registered teams are slow teams) in the misty Hönggerberg woods. Then runners 2 to 7 head out into Engstringen, up and along the Uetliberg and back into town, finishing at the beautiful University Irchel. The afternoon runners 8-12 start at 12:30 . The trail heads through Forch to Egg and comes back to Witikon. Two short runs from there to the finish at Irchel complete the race. We meet at tents across the lake from the finish.
Handover is done by a handshake to the next runners so it's important to turn up early.
Runners 1, 8 and 13 start sharp at 7:30, 12:30 and 16:45 respectively.
