Following the tradition of Gurdjieff, Ouspensky and Collin, and the system known as the Fourth Way, the Academy of European Arts and Culture is comprised of a group of people dedicated to the awakening of the inner higher self: the soul. Founded by the late Irish Philosopher, Mervyn Brady, the Academy has taught hundreds of people the basic fundamentals of a deeper understanding of one’s interior world. Based upon the work of philosophers, artists, mystics, theologians and scientists throughout the centuries, each of whom has left a legacy that offers one the practical tools to live an enriched life. During our meetings we discuss different topics related to the Awakening process, with a special emphasis on learning how to observe the parts of us that create obstacles to being present. We also study great men and women throughout history who have awakened and left behind the gems of their processes in various forms. Some of these souls include Walt Whitman, Leonardo da Vinci, Meister Eckhardt, Johann Sebastian Bach, William Shakespeare, George Gurdjieff, Lao Tzu, Rumi, Abraham Lincoln, Hafez, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, St. Theresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, Reiner Maria Rilke and Mervyn Brady as well as many others. The main effort in meetings is to achieve the silence and inner peace that is inherent within the Present moment. All true traditions and paths are connected in this desire and are welcome. Weekly meetings are held in addition to the Meet-Ups that are advertised here. If you are interested in attending one of the weekly meetings, please feel free to contact the organizers of this group.
