Early New Year's Eve celebration! Come celebrate the beautiful wines and traditions of Spain this Saturday!

Feliz Nochevieja Universitaria!!!

Please note that this is a RESERVATION ONLY event!

Please sign up and pay in advance at to reserve your spot!

The cost of this event is $25.00 and you must bring a tapas style or spanish dish to share.  This will be a casual cocktail style tasting.

University students in Spain celebrate the New Year a little early in order to spend the time with their fellow students before leaving for the holidays.  This year it was celebrated on December 13th, but we will be celebrating on the 29th instead!

We will explore wines and cheeses from Spain during this event including some Cavas, the Spanish sparking wine made in the traditional method in the same way as Champagne (with second fermentation in the bottle).  Cava is a lovely sparkling wine, typically made with Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel-lo.

We will be celebrating the Spanish and Italian tradition of "Bragas Rojas", wearing red underwear or lingerie on New Year's Eve...but we will be wearing our red on the outside....we will trust you about the red you are wearing on the inside!

Over a century ago, a new tradition was started by some shrewd farmers with an over abundance of grapes at the end of the year.  You must eat 12 grapes at the twelve bongs of midnight and for every grape you eat you get a month of good luck.  We will have grapes.

Don't forget to wear your red...on the outside and the inside!
