This is a repeat of a hike Aaron did in late April. Weather forecast for this area on the 21st is clear and highs in mid 80's. Bring at least one liter of water and food for the wait till sunset at the top.
We will hike along the river to monkey face and climb to the ridge from that side. There are Rattlesnakes in this area so stay in the center of the trail and watch where you step, sit or place your hands. Bring a wind breaker---the climb to the top will produce a sweat and the evening breezes can chill you and force you to descend alone which is not a good idea. Bring your Camera even if there is some smoke haze there should be lots of red to the sunset.
BRING YOUR HEADLAMPS. There should be reasonable lighting for our descent but one never knows for sure and you want to see where you are stepping---remember those snakes tend to move around as the sun goes down and it cools off.
