I skied the trail today and broke trail. This is a great trail! We will ski 3 miles uphill to Paulina Lake Lodge for lunch. If you bring your own lunch you will have to eat it outside. I am buying my lunch they have great food and a cozy wood stove! Then we will ski 3 miles back on the same trail.
Skins are not needed as up hill is mild and so is down hill. There are 5 fallen trees but easy to ski over. I skied with BC70's and they were perfect. Skinny skis will work also. Beginners are ok as long as you are well on your way to intermediate. This trail is not groomed. There were some snow shoe tracks on some of the trail. I had to break trail for about 1.5 miles.
Bring your 10 essentials and dress in layers. It was sunny up there today and I skied with no gloves or coat. This is a medium pace event. No fast skiers please. This area has so much to take in and we will not be in a hurry.
