New Event: Short Notice Snowshoe Hike

From: Tom R.
Sent on: Saturday, December 22, 2007 2:08 PM
Announcing a new event for The Bend Hiking Meetup Group!

What: Short Notice Snowshoe Hike

When: Sunday, December 23, 8:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Who should come: Crazy people that enjoy fighting their way through knee-deep snow!

Why: A good work out!!!

Event Description: There's three feet of new snow in the mountains. Hazel and I just spent two hours breaking the trail on Vista Butte. We managed about 1.5 miles through knee-deep snow before turning back. That leaves about 1 mile of deep snow to the top of Vista Butte.

As long as it doesn't snow too much overnight, we should be able to cover the broken section of the trail in about 30 mins. The section to the top will be hard work and cold. Sounds like fun, huh?

If anyone would like to join us tomorrow, meet us at Starbucks on Century Drive at 8:30am.
