Thanks for the ONDA Noodle announcement, Tom--
Here is the Flyer that explains what this FREE opportunity is about:
The detailed Quad topo map for The Badlands is Horse Ridge available for $7.00 from Bend Map and Blueprint near Patagonia in downtown Bend. A quality base plate declination adjustable compass (the Suunto M3) is about $30 at REI and Mountain Supply. The Garmin eTrex H GPS costing $100 provides the same accurate necessary information as one costing seven times as much. Total cost $7.00 or $37.00 or $137.00!
But how do you use the map, compass and optional GPS together?
Google the three words      map compass gps     to find out ;-))
Reserve now! I will only take 10 people, novice to expert.

"TraditionalMountaineering is founded on the premise that "He who knows naught, knows not that he knows naught", that exploring the hills and summitting peaks have dangers that are hidden to the un-informed and that these inherent risks can be in part identified and mitigated by information, training, interesting gear and knowledge gained through the experiences of others.
