This is a practice group based on Marshal Rosenberg's system around language usage called 'Nonviolent Communication' (NVC.) Marshall created a method that shows you how to use language and presence to create connection while we speak and listen to each other.
The end goal of this method is to be able to arrive at win-win conversations, create power-with not power-over situations and scenarios. Have you every felt like you aren't heard, seen, or understood in communication? Would you like to experience the opposite?
Other words used to describe this method of communicating could be 'Conscious Communication' or 'Mindful Communication.'
One of the key things that is happening is learning how to give and receive empathy.
We are also learning what is and is not empathy.
What does this mean for you? NVC has the potential of helping you connect deeply with yourself and others in a way that facilitates speaking cleanly and in integrity once you have mastered the skills. This increases the chances of people truly understanding each other. It also increases the chances of you being more at peace with outcomes even when there is no perfect agreement or alignment.
When experiencing what empathy is truly like, both giving it and receiving it, participants often feel very nurtured. Feeling empathy often fills the void of connection that many of us feel in our day to day lives. Who would not want to experience more of this juicy compassion and connection? Once participants have learned what this is like and how to give and receive empathy in the way that Marshall intended, the beautiful effect is a very peaceful sense of connection, peace and aliveness. This is what we practice- how to get to this place of peace and understanding and thus create more peace and beauty in our lives.
If you would like to try this method out and learn through exercises and coaching how to create this, then come!
