2018 was a blockbuster year for European tech 🔥

More talent, more founders, more funding, more exits, and more European cities becoming tech hubs. The myth that Europe can't do tech? Busted for good! 💪
Atomico's Tom Wehmeier will discuss the highlights of 2018 and what we can look forward to in 2019 - from talent to research, upcoming tech hubs to the industry's diversity and inclusion issues.

France is a standout in the European region, with huge increases in capital invested, the fastest growth in tech employment, and giant levels of optimism. Yet it still faces the same challenges of inclusion and diversity that other regions do 🤝‍
We will discuss the state of the French ecosystem with:

📂 Tom Wehmeier, Partner & Head of Research at Atomico

He co-founded Ledger in 2014 with ambitious team of 8 entrepreneurs who saw the potential of blockchain technology to advance the way we live. The team realized very early on that security would be the cornerstone of the long term success for blockchain. Ledger has been growing at a fast pace since then raising $75M and now employs 160 people.

💳Alex Prot, CEO at Qonto
Qonto is one of those user-oriented startups with a mind-blowing execution. Since 2016, ALex & his team develop a whole banking infrastructure for SMEs & freelancers. With almost 100 employees and 40M$ raised in total, it’s clearly one of the French startups you should pay attention to.

💰 Elina Berrebi, Founding Partner at Gaia Capital
Elina was growth investor for many years at Eurazeo. She invested in top startups such as Vestiaire Collective, ContentSquare, Doctolib and Younited Credit. She will give us her VC perspective of the local ecosystem.

The event will be followed by a Q&A to satisfy your curiosity as well as some time to get to know each other over snacks & drinks 🥨🍷

See you there,
With love 💜
