Women's Ritual Circle celebrating Lammas & New Moon

We are gathering once again in sisterhood on Friday 2nd August to celebrate Lammas, which in the Celtic Wheel of the Year marks the first Grain Harvest and people traditionally gather to honour Mother Earth and give thanks for abundance. At Lammas the Goddess is in Her aspect as Grain Mother, Harvest Mother, Harvest Queen, Earth Mother, Ceres and Demeter.

"Demeter, as Corn Mother, represents the ripe corn of this year's harvest and Her daughter Kore/Persephone represents the grain, - the seed which drops back deep into the dark earth, hidden throughout the winter, and re-appears in the spring as new growth. This is the deep core meaning of Lammas and comes in different guises. The fullness and fulfillment of the present harvest already holds at its very heart the seed of all future harvest." This year, Lammas falls on the same day that the New Moon enters the Leo constellation. New Moon is a time of releasing the energies of the previous cycle and setting our intentions for the new cycle so in many ways this cosmic alignment amplifies the energy of new beginnings that arise from the fruition, completion (or occasional endings) in the previous cycle. In evolutionary astrology, Leo is the archetypal sign of Creative Self-Actualisation that comes from "Seeing the Inner Light so as the Self can experience itself as part of the Divine Light and embody these unique aspects of its Light nature.".

When I tune in the energy of this year's Lammas combined with the New Moon, I am reminded that each soul comes to this life with a particular purpose. I see Life as the fertile soil that receives the seed of our light essence (spirit), nourishes it into form (body) and through life's experiences, it cultivates the unique aspects of our Light Self. Symbolically, the Harvest arrives when the Light Self starts embodying its true nature, acting upon and therefore fulfilling its life purpose in the Great Design. In the most profound and simple way, our sacred purpose is to be who we truly are!

The great paradox about knowing who we are is in our ability to draw upon the knowledge and resources gained through life without identifying ourselves through them, and instead allow the fluidity of the present moment to nourish and regenerate the Self. The passing of the seasons creates a beautiful analogy for the power of rebirth and rejuvenation that exists in each breath we take; when we are fully present and at peace with All That Is in the Here & Now.

With all that in my heart & mind, tonight's circle is about re-affirming the Sacred Gift of Life giving thanks for our life's experiences that have given / are giving Birth to the True Self. We are opening the circle with Andean Solar practices to connect with the Sun and Spiritual Sun to call in the Light the of the True Self and bless the waters of the wombspace. We continue with a practice visiting our timeline to retrieve any personal energy still attached to the past (in the form of an unhealed wound and/ or unrealised potential) so that we move freely into 5th dimensional living anchoring the Light of the True Self in the Here & Now. We complete tonight's circle with shamanic drum journeying with Grandmother Moon to welcome the new cycle and plant our intentions.
