Announcing a new Meetup for NYC Animal Advocacy Network! What
: Mercy For Animals' Thanksgiving Potluck
Join Mercy for Animals at the NYC Advocacy Center for an inspiring talk about the fascinating and complex lives, thoughts and emotions of farmed animals and a special premiere screening of MFA?s powerful new documentary, Farm to Fridge, narrated by James Cromwell. Learn how industrial farming has changed the way cows, pigs and chickens are treated and how our food choices can become a powerful tool in preventing cruelty to animals.
Whether you are a new or longtime vegan, or someone just beginning to explore a plant-based diet, this is your chance to meet like-minded people and learn how to become a more effective advocate for animals. From staffing outreach tables at street fairs and encouraging local restaurants to add vegan options to their menus to giving humane education presentations in schools and coordinating exciting fundraising events, MFA offers a host of volunteer opportunities suitable to anyone with a passion for animal rights and the motivation to make a difference.
In celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, MFA will be serving Gardein?s new ?Savory Stuffed Turk?y? and drinks. Guests are encouraged to bring a vegan side dish and/or dessert (made without meat, eggs and dairy) to share. If necessary, there is a kitchen on site in which you can reheat your dish. Please include a serving utensil and a list of ingredients on a notecard along with your dish.
This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP in advance. To RSVP or for more information, please email Matt Rice, New York Campaign Coordinator, or call[masked]-6464.
